Grand Seiko Unveils the Stunning Mountainscape: A Tribute to Nature’s Majesty

In its 65th year, Grand Seiko has once again captivated fans with the release of their latest masterpiece, the Mountainscape. Inspired by their immediate surroundings - the awe-inspiring presence of Mount Iwate in Japan’s Iwate Prefecture, the Takumi watchmakers at the Studio Shizukuishi have produced a watch that seamlessly blends exceptional craftsmanship with beautiful design.

The Mountainscape features a dial that mirrors the textured slopes and shadowed peaks of Mount Iwate, with subtle gradients that shift under different lighting conditions - a testament to Grand Seiko’s unrivaled attention to detail.

Powering this stunning creation is the in-house crafted 9SA5 Hi-Beat movement, delivering +5/-3 seconds per day at 36,000 vibrations per hour and a power reserve of 80 hours. The movement’s smooth operation complements the dial’s organic aesthetic, creating a harmonious fusion of form and function.
The 40mm case is an Evolution 9 design made from Ever-Brilliant Steel, as is the bracelet, while the clasp is crafted from a combination of Ever-Brilliant Steel, titanium and 18 carat gold offering durability without compromising elegance.

Under a box sapphire glass are a set of multi-faceted and Zaratsu-polished indices, and a blued steel second hand. .

Grand Seiko has confirmed that this exclusive timepiece will hit the market in May.

Priced at £9,500 and limited to 1,200 pieces worldwide, the Mountainscape is poised to become a highly sought-after collector’s item.
